# acceptDispute

Mutation · GraphQL API

Accepts a dispute and returns a payload that includes the dispute that was accepted. Only disputes with a status of OPEN can be accepted.

- `input` (`AcceptDisputeInput!`) — required

## Returns [AcceptDisputePayload](/braintree/graphql/reference/types/accept-dispute-payload)

Top-level field returned when accepting a dispute.

### Returned fields

- `clientMutationId` (`String`): An identifier used to reconcile requests and responses. 255 characters maximum.
- `dispute` (`Dispute`): Information about the dispute that was accepted.

### Accept an open dispute

Accepts a $25.00 open dispute and returns its accepted status with evidence (union type: DisputeFileEvidence / DisputeTextEvidence).
