Last week at POST/CON 2025 in Los Angeles, PayPal joined thousands of developers, API leaders, and innovators to explore the future of intelligent, AI-driven development. Below are top updates from the event.

Recognized with a Best API Award

PayPal was named a Best API Award winner at this year’s Postman API Network Awards. With more than 100,000 APIs on the Postman Public API Network, this recognition means a lot—and reflects our continued investment in building tools that empower developers worldwide. With nearly 100,000 forks to our collection, we’re incredibly proud of the trust developers have for our APIs and strive to continue innovating and improving our developer experience.

PayPal MCP Server Postman Collection and Expanded Agent Toolkit

We introduced the PayPal MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, built to streamline how developers and merchants create AI-powered payment workflows. This allows developers to enable merchants to plug in their preferred AI tools—including LLMs—without manually integrating through PayPal's standard APIs. The result? Faster development, more intuitive experiences, and seamless agentic integration into existing MCP clients.

To make things even easier, we also launched our brand-new PayPal MCP server Postman collection—a ready-to-use, fully documented set of API requests that can be explored, tested, and customized directly within Postman. This collection simplifies onboarding and reduces friction for team building or iterating on AI-driven commerce workflows.

With our newly expanded agent toolkit, developers now have access to a complete suite of components to design and deploy AI-enhanced commerce solutions with PayPal from day one. This includes everything from checkout flows to transaction processing, all built to support the future of agent-led and agent-assisted commerce.

APIs for Agent and Developer Experience

Rebecca Hauck, from the PayPal team, took the stage to explore what it means to Be a Good AI Citizen. Her session focused on designing APIs that are clear, easy to use, and work well for both humans and AI systems. She emphasized building workflows and platforms where human developers and AI agents thrive together—with clarity, composability, and collaboration at the core.

Live Demos: Seamless AI Checkout in Action

Throughout the week, we highlighted how our integrated toolset brings AI-powered commerce experiences to life. At the AI Tool Builder booth, attendees explored our interactive gift card checkout demo—an end-to-end experience powered by the PayPal MCP server, Anthropic’s Claude for conversational intelligence, and our latest commerce APIs.

The demo walked users through a seamless, natural language-based checkout flow. Instead of navigating a traditional interface, users simply described what they wanted—a specific gift card, purchase details, and confirmation—and the system handled the rest. Behind the scenes, the MCP server managed session continuity and contextual awareness, while Claude dynamically interpreted user intent and made real-time decisions. The result? A smooth, intuitive checkout experience that showcased how AI agents can reduce friction, lower drop-off rates, and elevate customer satisfaction in digital commerce.
