  • 0 indicates a 0-digit denomination currency. If you pass a decimal amount, an error occurs.
  • 2 indicates a 2-digit denomination currency that uses multiples of 0.20 in the decimal place. See Special currencies for more details.
  • 3 indicates a 3-digit denomination currency. Pass a 0 in third decimal place, or only pass non-0 amounts up to the first 2 decimal places.
If you pass an amount in the incorrect format, the amount will be rounded down to the second decimal place, and the third decimal place will be replaced with a 0 to allow the payment to go through. For example, passing KWD 101.123 will be rounded down to KWD 101.120.
  • 4 Bulgarian Lev (BGN) currency transition to Euro (EUR): Effective January 1, 2026, Bulgaria will become a member of the Euro area, and the Euro (EUR) will replace the domestic currency of the Bulgarian Lev (BGN). From this date, authorization and settlement of BGN will change to EUR.
If your integration currently uses BGN, update your code to use EUR before January 1, 2026.

Special currencies

The following section provides details about the currencies that require special integration:

Malagasy Ariary

The Malagasy Ariary (MGA) is a 2-digit denomination currency with a base-5 divisory currency unit. When taking payments in MGA:

  • Pass MGA amounts with multiples of 0.20 in the decimal place, such as: 10.00, 10.20, 10.40, 10.60, 10.80.
  • Decline MGA amounts that aren't in multiples of 0.20, such as: 10.05, 10.19, 10.41, 10.55, 10.79.

If you pass an MGA amount in an incorrect format, the amount will be rounded to the nearest multiple of 0.20 to allow the payment to go through. For example, passing MGA 101.12 will be rounded to MGA 101.20.
