Merchant onboarding overview

Last updated: Aug 15th, 7:42am

For your merchants to accept payment on your site, they must first be onboarded with PayPal. Onboard your merchants by creating non-loginable merchant accounts.

How it works

  1. The merchant visits your site and starts the onboarding process.
  2. You create non-loginable merchant accounts for your merchants by submitting onboarding data using the Multi-Level Account Management API.
  3. You submit information and documentation needed to verify the merchant.
  4. PayPal verifies the merchant through the Customer Identification Program and Know Your Customer (KYC) verification.

Prerequisite

Before you onboard merchants, make sure:

  1. The partner account is set up in sandbox and production.
  2. The required API credentials are available to start calling PayPal API.
