Store Sync overview

Store Sync is for merchants who want to make their full product catalog and order management accessible to AI shopping assistants. It connects your product catalog and commerce API with PayPal's agentic commerce services, enabling AI agents to discover your products, create and manage shopping carts, and complete purchases on behalf of customers through conversational interfaces.

Here is how it works:

• You provide your product catalog to PayPal to describe your inventory.
• A customer tells an AI shopping assistant what they are looking for.
• The assistant can search Store Sync-connected catalogs to find matching products, add items to a cart, and complete the purchase without the customer leaving the AI platform.
• Your existing order management system receives the order just as it would from any other channel.

Store Sync currently supports merchants who are selling physical goods to US-based customers in USD. It does not support digital goods, subscription products, or sales to customers who are outside the US at this time. If you want to accept payments through AI assistants with minimal changes to your existing setup, rather than exposing your full catalog and order management, use Agent Ready instead.

Before you begin

To be eligible to integrate Store Sync, you must meet the following requirements:

• Be an existing PayPal merchant. If you are not yet a PayPal merchant, complete onboarding first. For help with onboarding, contact your PayPal account manager or customer support.
• Do business in a supported region and currency. Currently, only merchants who sell physical goods to US-based customers in USD are eligible.
• Use one of these two integrations:
  • Orders v2 or support an Orders v2 integration
  • Braintree with a compatible setup
• Have a product catalog that you can share with PayPal. For information about creating your product catalog, see Create a product catalog.
