Customize subscription button using your dashboard

Before you begin

Use the Subscriptions settings to choose your API credentials, checkout layout, button style, and color before you add the button to your website.

1. Log in to your PayPal business account.
2. From the navigation menu, select Sales > Subscriptions > Subscription plans.
3. Select the plan you want to customize and select Turn Plan On.

Customize your checkout

After you select Turn Plan On, you're ready to share your subscription. Customize your checkout experience, then add the code to your website.

1. Choose your API credentials. By default, only Default App is available. This links your website to your PayPal account so you can get paid. You can rename the app in your account settings.
2. Choose a checkout layout: Vertical or Horizontal.
3. Choose a button shape: Rectangle or Pill.
4. Choose a button color: Gold, Blue, Silver, White, or Black.
5. Choose your button text: PayPal or Subscribe.
6. Review the checkout preview on your screen to verify it matches your selections.
7. Select Copy Code.

With your code copied, add the button to your website and test the checkout flow.
