Set Up Your Verifone Gateway
Once your Braintree gateway is set up, share information with Verifone to complete their gateway configuration. Verifone requires the following information to connect to the Braintree gateway for both the sandbox and production environments:
- Environment (sandbox or production)
- Merchant ID
- API credentials (public key and private key)
- Merchant Account IDs (MAIDs) for each location
Generating API Credentials for Verifone
To allow Verifone to interact with the Braintree gateway:
- Create a Braintree user with API access enabled and permissions for the MAIDs that will be used for in-store transactions.
- Assign the user a role with the following rights: Transactions (all), Customer Management (all), and Read-Only Access (all).
- Generate API credentials for the user by following the standard steps for creating API keys in the Braintree control panel.
