Important: NVP/SOAP is a legacy integration method. We accept new integrations and support existing integrations, but there are newer solutions. If you're starting an integration, we recommend our latest solutions.

PayPal Payments Standard provides payment buttons as a quick and easy solution for accepting payments. Payment buttons let you securely accept credit card, debit card, and PayPal payments on your website from any mobile device, tablet, or PC. Simply log in to the PayPal website to create, and optionally customize, a payment button. Then copy and paste the payment button's HTML code snippet to your website.

Overview

You can create a payment button for a straightforward, single-item purchase or for a full shopping cart. You can also create payment buttons to accept a donation, set up a subscription or automate billing.

Using a few basic options, your payment button can include shipping fees and taxes, track inventory, and get profit and loss information by product or service. Advanced options enable you to completely customize the checkout page and checkout experience.

Beyond a simple payment solution, PayPal Payments Standard provides invoicing, transaction management, shipment tracking, and data integration with tools like Excel, Quickbooks, and Quicken.

Availability

You must have a PayPal Business or PayPal Premier account to create payment buttons. There are no setup fees or cancellation fees. See PayPal Merchant Fees for information about per-transaction fees.

Use payment buttons in any country where PayPal is accepted. You can hold multiple currency balances in your PayPal account or convert a currency balance at competitive rates. International fees are also provided on the PayPal Merchant Fees page.
