How it works
- Buyer: Selects Pay with Pix at the merchant's checkout page.
- Merchant | Partner: Creates an order using PayPal's Orders v2 API with Pix as the payment source.
- PayPal: Returns an order ID along with Pix payment data (text for QR code generation and copy-and-paste string) in the response.
- Merchant | Partner: Generates a QR code image from the provided text data and displays it along with the copy-paste string as payment instructions on the checkout confirmation page.
- Buyer:
- Scans the QR code or copies and pastes the text into their bank or wallet app
- Authenticates and approves the payment within their app
- PayPal: Notifies the merchant of customer approval.
- Merchant | Partner completes the payment:
- Automatic flow: PayPal immediately captures payment and completes the order
- Manual flow: Merchant captures the payment after receiving the customer approval notification
- PayPal: Credits the payment to the merchant's Pix balance in BRL.
- Merchant | Partner: Notifies the buyer that the payment is complete and fulfils the order.
