Control Panel for In-Person Payments
The Braintree Control Panel provides transaction management and reporting tools for both your online and in-store payments. This section highlights the in-person-specific views and fields you can use to search for transactions, review details, and export data for reconciliation or analysis. This page is for operations, finance, and support teams who use the Braintree Control Panel to monitor in-store payments, investigate specific transactions, and support their reconciliation workflows.
Transaction Search
Use Transaction Search to locate specific in-store payments and related ecommerce activity. You can combine standard filters with in-store-specific fields to narrow results.
- Order ID: Search by your POS invoice number passed into Braintree.
- Store ID: Filter transactions by the store or location identifier sent from Verifone.
- Transaction options: Distinguish between Online transactions and Offline or deferred transactions that use store-and-forward.
- Authorization status: Find transactions based on whether they were fully or partially authorized (for example, when a card is approved for less than the requested amount).
These search options complement the reporting tools described in the Money and Reporting Overview and Reports and Analytics Guide, where you can work with the same identifiers at report level.
Transaction Detail page
The Transaction Detail page shows additional fields for in-person payments so you can see how a specific transaction was captured in store.
- Order ID: Shows your POS invoice number for linking back to POS records.
- Transaction origin: Set to "In-Person" to clearly identify the transaction source.
- Entry mode: Indicates how the card was read (chip, contactless tap, or magnetic stripe swipe).
- Reader ID: Shows which Verifone terminal or device processed the transaction.
- Store ID: Shows the store identifier as shared by Verifone.
- Amount requested: Displays the original amount requested before any partial authorization.
- Partially authorized indicator: Marks transactions where the approved amount was less than the requested amount.
You can use these fields together with the in-store report fields (Store ID, Reader ID, Entry Mode, Order ID) described in the Money and Reporting Overview to trace the same payment across Control Panel views and reports.
Transaction download (CSV export)
From the transaction search results, you can download a CSV file that includes in-person-specific fields for further analysis or reconciliation. The file includes:
- Processing mode: Indicates whether the transaction was processed online or offline.
- Entry mode: Shows how the card was captured (chip, tap, swipe, manual).
- Partially authorized indicator: Flags transactions approved for less than the full requested amount.
- Amount requested: Shows the original requested amount for partially authorized transactions.
- Reader ID or Device ID: Displays the terminal serial number sent by Verifone.
- Store ID: Shows the store identifier as shared by Verifone.
These exports work alongside the formal reports described in the Reporting and Reconciliation Guide and Reports and Analytics Guide, where you can see the same transactions in structured, bank-reconcilable reports.
