Pay Later messaging helps you get the most out of PayPal’s buy now, pay later offers. You can use this onsite messaging to promote Pay Later offers dynamically, which can help grow your sales, attract new customers, and drive customer loyalty.

Messaging for Australia-based merchants

Pay Later messaging for Australia-based merchants is coming soon.

Messaging for France-based merchants

Pay Later messaging include the following pay later offer, which is available to French customers only:

  • Pay in 4, an installment offer that allows France-based consumers to spread the cost of the purchases across 4 equal payments for transactions between 30€ to 2,000€.

France Eligibility

You are eligible to promote Pay in 4 if you are a France-based PayPal merchant with a France-facing website and a one-time payment integration. Reference Transaction or Recurring Payment integrations are not eligible, as well as certain merchant categories (such as digital goods or non-physical goods).

Please note that while messaging can be displayed on your website to help promote Pay Later offers to your customers, no additional content, wording, marketing, or other material should be created by you to encourage use of this product. PayPal reserves the right to take action in accordance with the User Agreement.

Messaging for Germany-based merchants

Pay Later messaging include the following pay later offer, which is available to German customers only:

  • PayPal Ratenzahlung, an installment loan in Germany that gives your customers the flexibility to pay for their purchase in monthly installments.

Germany Eligibility

You are eligible for PayPal Ratenzahlung if you are a Germany-based merchant that sells in Euros. You must have an eligible PayPal payment solution integrated with your website to offer PayPal Ratenzahlung. Merchants who have integrated Ratenzahlung Powered by PayPal for their online store are not eligible. Get help removing Ratenzahlung Powered by PayPal integration.

You are eligible to promote PayPal Ratenzahlung on your online store if you have a One-Time payment integration. Merchants with only Reference Transaction or Recurring Payment integrations are not eligible.

Additionally, PayPal Ratenzahlung follows the PayPal Acceptable Use Policy, which governs the usage of PayPal and prohibits the use of PayPal and/or PayPal Ratensahlung for certain types of transactions (e.g. real money gaming, firearms, etc.)

Messaging for UK-based merchants

Pay Later messaging include the following pay later offer, which is available to UK customers only:

  • Pay Later messaging includes Pay in 3, which UK buyers can use to pay for purchases in three, interest-free payments of £45.00 to £2,000.

UK Eligibility

UK-based consumers are eligible for Pay Later offers across most of our integrations. As a merchant, you’re eligible to promote Pay in 3 if you are a UK-based PayPal merchant, with a UK-legal business entity, with a UK-facing website, and a one-time payment integration. At this time, promoting Pay Later offers is not available on PayPal vaulted payments or billing agreement integrations.

Please note that while messaging can be displayed on your website to help promote Pay Later offers to your customers, no additional content, wording, marketing, or other material should be created by you to encourage use of this product. PayPal reserves the right to take action in accordance with the User Agreement.

Messaging for US-based merchants

Pay Later messaging include the following pay later offers, which are available to US customers only:

  • Pay in 4, which buyers can use to pay for purchases in four, interest-free payments of $30 to $1,500.
  • PayPal Credit, a revolving line of credit that buyers can use to pay over time.

US Eligibility

US-based consumers are eligible for Pay Later offers across most of our integrations. As a merchant, you're eligible to promote Pay Later offers if you are based in the US with a US-facing website and a one-time payment integration. Promoting Pay Later offers is not available if you're using vaulted payments or subscriptions.
