New Features

These are the newest features for the Payflow Gateway.

For other changes and revisions to the developer guide, click here and for updates to the Payflow SDK for both .NET and Java, see GitHub where you can now obtain the source-code for your use.

  • Card on File (CoF). A transaction in which a cardholder authorizes a merchant to store their payment details and bill the stored account.

    Supported processors:

    • Paymentech Salem
    • First Data North
    • TSYS

The Payflow SDKs have been updated to support Card on File. You can obtain them on GitHub.

  • Online refunds. Today, cardholders have real-time, 24/7 access to their online banking apps through smartphones and other devices. They are more aware than ever of how quickly purchase information is updated to their account. However, cardholders also have become increasingly aware that the same flow of information does not exist on purchase returns (credits).

To provide the same level of information for purchase returns, card brands introduced an authorization on credit transactions. This provides card issuers with real-time information about returns to their cardholders.

  • 3D Secure 2 (3DS2) and PSD2 Strong Customer Authentication. Should your bank require your to support these initiatives, you'll need to implement bothCard on File (CoF) and 3D-Secure v2 using an Directory Service Provider; previously known as an MPI. You can find more information about 3DS2 here.
  • Payflow SDK has been updated to include the items above and is now open-sourced. Visit GitHub for more information.
