This document guides you on the process of moving to the recommended PayPal Payments extension. This is a newer, free extension that has the same and more features than older extensions. This is for Adobe Partner.

Requirements & Installation

You have two convenient options to upgrade to the latest PayPal on Adobe Commerce.

  1. Bold Booster extension
  2. Payment Services extension

Install Bold Booster on Adobe Commerce (Magento 2)

Bold Booster is an extension that makes it easy for merchants to access a diverse lineup of payment solutions, including Fastlane (US only), Venmo (coming soon, US only), Pay Later, and other payment options customers prefer.

Install Payment Services for Adobe Commerce and Magento Open Source

Payment Services is your one-stop-shop for online checkout (from settlement and refunds to getting paid). It provides powerful tools to give you the insight and control needed for creating the best experience for your buyers.

Prerequisite

In order to complete production onboarding, you MUST have an Adobe Payment Services account. To get one, reach out to your Adobe Account representatives or email PaymentsInfo@Adobe.com.

Getting Started

  1. Install the Payment Services extension.
  2. Obtain API credentials.
  3. Connect your instance to Commerce Services. This connect must be completed only once per Commerce instance.
  4. Set up the sandbox service (or, alternatively, proceed to enabling live payments if you’ve tested functionality in another environment) with a test PayPal payment processing account.
  5. Set Payment Services as your payment method, in sandbox mode, to start processing test payments.
  6. Request payments entitlement to enable live onboarding.
  7. Complete merchant onboarding to enable live payments for your Commerce websites.
  8. Get your Payment Services Merchant ID and hand it to Sales to configure the correct pricing tier.
  9. Enable Payment Services in live mode to begin processing live payments.
  10. Test Payments, in both sandbox and production environments.
